Volvo FH Aero Electric Sets New Standard with 700 km Electric Range

Volvo Trucks has unveiled a major step forward in electric transport with the launch of the Volvo FH Aero Electric with extended range. Most importantly, the new model can travel up to 700 km on a single charge, depending on operating conditions. As a result, long‑distance electric haulage is now more achievable than ever. For operators considering the move away from diesel, this represents a real and practical solution.

Designed for long distances and high productivity

At the core of the FH Aero Electric is a new compact e‑axle design. This integrates two electric motors and a six‑speed gearbox directly into the rear axle. Because of this layout, valuable chassis space is freed up. Consequently, the truck can carry more batteries, increasing usable energy and efficiency. In addition, the FH Aero Electric offers a gross combination weight of up to 44 tonnes. Payloads can reach up to 28 tonnes, depending on specification. Therefore, it is well suited to long‑haul and intercity transport, including hub‑to‑hub and two‑shift operations.
