The Drinking Water Club, the latest venture from the forward-thinking Tomato Plant Group, has just added a Volvo FMX Truck to its expanding fleet. This high-spec vehicle supports the group’s growth into new transport sectors. The Volvo FMX once again proving to be the truck of choice.

Meeting Evolving Transport Needs with Volvo FMX

The Drinking Water Club was launched just 10 months ago by Keith Williams, Managing Director of Tomato Plant, in response to increasing demand for a more integrated approach to water supply and infrastructure services. The business offers bulk and bottled drinking water supply, complimenting the broader group’s drainage, plumbing, and installation capabilities through Tomato Plant and Plum Tomatoes.

With operations quickly gaining traction across the UK, particularly in festivals, film production, sporting events, and remote sites, the team recognised a need for a smaller, more manoeuvrable vehicle. Their existing fleet of artic tankers couldn’t always access all the varied locations they were being called to.

Enter the Volvo FMX 500bhp 8×4 Tridem, a high-spec, versatile rigid unit built with accessibility and performance in mind.

To meet the Club’s logistical needs, the FMX has been configured with:

• Rear-steer tag axle for exceptional manoeuvrability
• 9-tonne front axle
• Extra-high chassis for optimum ground clearance
• 500bhp engine for heavy-duty capability
• Globetrotter cab
• Factory-fitted sat nav and in-cab fridge
• Alcoa Dura-Bright alloy wheels

The vehicle has been completed with a 19,000-litre stainless steel tank body built by Crossland, ideal for potable water transport. Finished in eye-catching bespoke livery, the truck reflects the brand’s fresh, dynamic image and expansion into new markets.
