MC Truck & Bus Southampton – Gearing Up for a Big Year in Electric Bus PDI

MC Truck & Bus Southampton is preparing for an exciting year as our Bus Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) Centre continues to support the rollout of Volvo’s electric buses across the UK.

Next week, we will receive 40 brand-new electric buses, marking the start of a full 2025 schedule. Our team will process up to 10 buses per week throughout the year. As the designated UK PDI facility for Volvo’s electric buses, we ensure every vehicle is fully inspected, upgraded with third-party installations, and undergoes final quality checks before reaching customers.

To keep up with rising demand, we have expanded our PDI team. A new Bus PDI Manager has joined us, along with additional technicians, and more will be on board soon. This investment strengthens our ability to maintain top-tier service and efficiency.

Additionally, our facility now features a 160kW charger, allowing us to fully charge all vehicles before they leave. With hundreds of electric buses expected to pass through our Southampton site this year, our team is ready to support the shift toward sustainable transport.
