D&A Transport Receive New Volvo FH After 24 Years of Loyalty

After 14 years behind the wheel of his trusted Volvo FH3 (his third consecutive Volvo), Andy Burdfield, owner of D & A Transport, finally decided to upgrade to a brand-new Volvo FH. Andy’s journey with this particular FH 540 Globetrotter XL with I-shift and Prestige trim began in 2011 , and he’s been so happy with it he admits, “I would have happily kept it forever.” However, with Volvo continually pushing the boundaries of trucking technology, Andy knew the time had come to take his next step—upgrading to another Volvo FH.

Andy’s new truck, a highly-specified Volvo FH5 6×2 with a 500 turbo compound engine, is packed with factory fitted features. The truck boasts an impressive range of upgrades, including the Driver Convenience Package, Living ++, and Energy Optimisation Package. These features ensure both optimal performance and exceptional driver comfort. It also comes equipped with I-Park Cool, designed to maintain the perfect cabin temperature, even when the engine is off.

The list of additions doesn’t stop there. The FH5 includes polished Durabrite wheels, a microwave, fridge and leather interior, alongside an enhanced exterior trim package. Andy’s truck is a perfect blend of functionality and style—designed not only to meet the demands of the job but to provide a premium driving experience. Furthermore the vehicle, which is on contract hire from MC Rental, gives additional peace of mind alongside operational ease.

Additional Features from MC Dedicated PDI Facility

Additional features were added at MC’s own dedicated PDI facility. These included the installation of four front Kelsa bars, a perimeter rear light bar, and auxiliary side skirts and catwalk: fitted by Southern Engineering. To enhance safety, a three-way recordable camera system by Advanced Vehicle Alarms. Now set to hit the road doing Hazardous ADR work one final touch was Prolific Graphics wrapping the ADR plate to blend seamlessly with the front grill when not in use. Solidifying the attention to detail put in by Andy and MC on this new vehicle. 

A Relationship Built on Trust and Loyalty

What makes this delivery even more special is the long-standing relationship between Andy and MC. Dave Hutchins, MC’s Group Sales Director, supplied his first Volvo nearly three decades ago before. Reflecting on this, Andy shared, “I’ve built a great working relationship with MC and specifically Dave over the years, and that’s why this was the only option for me.” His loyalty to both the Volvo brand and MC speaks volumes about the quality of service and products.
