Day Group 200th Truck Enters Service

Following a period of sustained growth Day Aggregates has taken delivery of its 200^th truck, part of an order for 40 Volvo vehicles entrusted to MC Truck & Bus. These vehicles will assist with the movement of 5 million tonnes of aggregate handled each year.

The 200^th truck, which made its maiden delivery earlier this week, was an FH500 Turbo Compound engine.

Days rapidly growing fleet operates out of 21 locations across the South of England, spanning from Bristol down to Kent, and makes over 1,000 deliveries to our customers’ sites daily. Each truck in the fleet complies with Euro 6 emission standards and includes many additional safety features and driver aids that help to protect vulnerable road users.

This recent purchase includes FH, FM and FL range vehicles and was placed due to excellent aftersales support found throughout the Volvo Network. Delivered on time and on budget this order saw the customer return to the Volvo product and MC Truck and Bus in favour of their previous supplier.

The 40 new vehicles consist of:

11 x FH500 TC 6×2 GT XL cabs, lite weight pushers with wet kits and DVS systems

13 x FM500 6×2 GT cabs, lite weight, medium height 3 star DVS trucks

19 x FM420 8×4 tippers, with Ally and steel bodies.
