MC TAKES TWO TOP SPOTS IN VISTA SEMI FINALS

The MC teams from Thurrock and Hythe came first and second in the VISTA semi-finals. VISTA (Volvo International Service Training Award) is a skills competition for parts and workshop, with the semi finals held this year in Sweden. Out of 231 teams that qualified for the semi-finals from across the UK and Ireland MC took the two top spots.

The Hythe team made up of team captain Malcolm Cook, Peter Day, Kelvin Adams and Jon Sparks came in second place in the international competition, which aims to to help employees develop and improve their knowledge, skills, and ability to work as a team.

Both Thurrock and Hythe have a proud tradition of success in Vista and this is a fantastic achievement by all involved in what is a hard-fought and prestigious event.

Participants take part in teams of two to four people, and the competition starts with two parts of theoretical questions, which teams complete in their workshops. After these two parts, the best performing teams qualify for the World Semi-Final. From this Semi-Final, 40 teams qualified for the World Final, which will be held in Curitiba, Brazil for the first time in the competition’s history.

MC’s team from Thurrock consisting of Ryan Garrett (team captain), Stuart Hall, John Walker and Darren Sladden came first in this round and will now go onto compete in the grand final in Brazil. This is a significant achievement for the company, who will now be representing the UK at a global level.
